What is a MAP?

Minor Attracted Person is an umbrella term that encompasses pedophilia, an attraction to prepubescent children; hebephilia, an attraction to pubescent children; ephebophilia, an attraction to teens; and nepiophilia, an attraction to babies. Attraction doesn’t equal action. One’s feelings don’t predicate that they will act illegally or immorally on their attraction.

Minor attraction is an orientation, as affirmed by the American Psychiatric Association in The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, Fifth Edition. This assertion is supported by many mental health professionals and researchers around the world.

B4U-ACT, a nonprofit organization of mental health professionals and minor-attracted people, works with researchers and mental health providers to advocate for compassionate and empathetic mental health care for minor-attracted individuals.
